After FGM @ 8yrs, cysts the size of a lemon kept growing on my private parts; I've had 5 surgeries

At the age of 8 years, Evangeline Mukami was forced to undergo Female Genital Mutilation - FGM. The cut happened right in front of her close family members.

FGM was not her worst, what followed was the nightmare of her life.

She started developing cysts on the FGM scar. One cyst after another. Each time, the cyst was bigger than the previous one and each had to be removed through an operation.

Now a mother three, Mukami Narrates how the 'growths' almost destroyed her marriage. She never enjoyed any sexual encounter and the scars drowned her self-esteem.

Today, Mukami is a proud of her life and that is why she speaks out so as to save other women who have undergone similar predicaments in life.
