How to totally revamp a plastic mannequin!
Published at : September 22, 2021
Have you got an old shiny mannequin sitting around and don't want to throw it out but would like to know how to up-cycle it into a beautiful and effective display for textiles or jewellery? I hate throwing anything out and couldn't resist this torso, which was free, but equally hated how shiny and ugly it looked. It took me a while to decide on the best course of action to take but once I did the project itself took only a total of a couple of hours work over 4 separate days, aside from the drying time between layers of course.
This very short video takes you through what I did, step by step. I used newspaper but of course you could use coloured wrapping paper or even old sheet music for a totally different vibe!
